Crash Seriously Injures One In Fairfield County

A bicyclist was seriously injured after being hit by a city-owned truck in Fairfield County.

The crash took place in Greenwich around 11:45 a.m., Wednesday, April 20 on Shore Road, said Capt. Mark Zuccerella, of the Greenwich Police.

The collision occurred on Shore Road near the intersection with Grass Island when the bicyclist was hit by a town of Greenwich Public Works truck, said Zuccerella.

The bicyclist sustained serious injuries, he added.

The Greenwich Police Traffic Reconstruction Unit responded to the collision and is investigating the incident.

The scene was cleared at around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, he added.

The case is still under investigation.
